As a dweller in the “uttermost ends of the West,” I am also pondering the same phrase in the beautiful prayer from Shoghi Effendi. It is very moving in its spiritual imagery: "The nightingales of Thy Garden of Sanctity are sobbing among the owls of deceit and treachery: be Thou their defender." As the Guardian said, "Although calamity is the well-spring of bounty, yet the hearts of Thy kindred are more delicate than a breeze from the East." I am not from the East, so if someone could explain the breeze from the East analogy to a believer's heart, I would appreciate it. I realize this is a Bahai-related question, but the prayer was posted and I simply have a question. Thank you. Thank you, very much, for this prayer, as praying is something we can all do.
