- EU Joins Canada to Co-sponsor Resolution on Iran at the UN

(CBNS) A Canadian-led resolution condemning Iran for its human rights record is being put forward this week at the United Nations. Strong resolutions passed last week in the European Union (EU) Parliament and in the United States House of Representatives, also condemning Iran for the gravity and extent of its human rights violations.

The events that could have distracted the world from Baha’i appeals for help, including the election aftermath, the nuclear issue, the holocaust denial and the arrest of foreign journalists, may instead have prepared opinions for a quick gathering of momentum with the release of the Secretary General’s report, etc., leading to an almost simultaneous wave of action. Iran, well aware of the necessity for close international ties for development of its technical abilities, is foced to a continuing dialog.
