disgusting. how could they claim to be muslims when they do such a thing without any knowledge of the Bahai Faith. such brainwashing by the govt shows the gullibility of the masses. what a pity! so we bear such stupidities, besides international media highlight, with prayers and hope and knowing that the big picture is on the horizon.

How so sad for Eival! Love and sympathy go to the victims, but shame and concern for those who are depriving themselves of God’s life-giving teachingsmessage by alienating those dispensing them. History will reveal the outcome, as the Holy Quran (2: 84) testifies:
“And when We made a covenant with you: You shall not shed your blood and you shall not turn your people out of your cities; then you gave a promise while you witnessed. (84) Yet you it is who slay your people and turn a party from among you out of their homes, backing each other up against them unlawfully and exceeding the limits; and if they should come to you, as captives you would ransom them– while their very turning out was unlawful for you. Do you then believe in a part of the Book and disbelieve in the other? What then is the reward of such among you as do this but disgrace in the life of this world, and on the day of resurrection they shall be sent back to the most grievous chastisement,…”

This escalation in light of the resolution (or lack thereof; I thought a “concluded” trial meant you got a verdict) of the trial of the Yaran is both disturbing and heartbreaking. Thank you, Concorde, for quoting the very on-point verse from the surah of The Cow. I am from the west and love the Holy Qur’an so much and am so saddened that people in the Americas tend to think not of the eternal message of peace and brotherhood (and the continuity of revelation) that are the great themes of the Qur’an but instead think of Muslims as bloodthirsty terrorists. But yes, how can one make Shahada and consider himself a Muslim schooled in the great miracle of Islam and behave like this toward his fellow man?

What I don’t understand is why we don’t hear more from peace abiding Muslim denouncing the extremist views and terrorist acts of the fanatics that contradict the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. Is there fear of reprisal, perhaps? It seems to me that with the spot light on the terrorist, non Muslims get a distorted view of the Islamic faith and unless they take time to investigate and study, they won’t have a realistic understanding of the sacred words of the Holy Prophet. Maybe peace abiding Muslims need to be more vocal and/or visible in the service of humanity?
